Christmas

This year was lots of fun with Elijah since he is now able to understand the idea of Christmas a little better. Of course he doesn't understand everything, but he was able to enjoy many aspects of the holiday much more than last year when he wasn't even old enough to sit up on his own.
A few of his favorite things this year was pointing to the nativity on top of our entertainment center and asking Jerod or I to hold him up to it so he could see all the figures and point out baby Jesus or the wise men. He also enjoyed having the Christmas tree lights on; so much so, that he would constantly ask to have them turned on, and so they remained on for the better part of each day. At night he would beg us to take him outside to see all the Christmas lights. He would sign the words for "coat" and "shoes" so we would know he wanted to go outside.
This year Elijah got a couple presents and like most kids, he enjoyed playing with the paper and boxes just the same as the toys.
After our Christmas morning, Jerod and I got to have the rest of the afternoon and evening to ourselves and enjoyed some time watching a movie and just hanging out. It's the longest alone time we've had away from Elijah since he was born, and it was a real treat!
Playing with his new dump truck and lego blocks (thank you Auntie Jessica and Uncle Justin)
