Flipping Pancakes

For awhile now Elijah has enjoyed helping me cook in the kitchen. I measure the ingredients and he pours them into the bowl. He even enjoys helping me mix and stir. Recently he has become fascinated with flipping things and so this morning when I was flipping the pancakes, I let him hold onto the spatula while I flipped. He then did not want to relinquish the spatula and had to have it with him while eating his pancakes. When he was finished eating, he took the remainder of his pancake and started flipping it at the table. Of course, learning new skills can even become a game, so eventually it turned into how high could the pancake be flipped and could it be flung in such a way as to land off the table. After a few such flings we had to end the game so our dining room wasn't littered with pancake pieces, but it sure was a lot of fun while it lasted. Here are a couple pictures (in case you're wondering why Eli doesn't have his shirt on, it's because he refused to let me put on on him that morning despite the chilly morning air...such independence).
After flipping his pancake, he would do the sign for "great" to congratulate himself on a job well done.
