This month I am attempting to do one new fun thing with Elijah each Tuesday (it's the one day where I don't have any commitments). So today we went to two different museums in our area; the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, and the Railroad Museum in Santa Clara. They were both free and a lot of fun.

It's hard to see him because he's so small in comparison to the sign, but if you look hard enough, you might actually see Elijah standing on the left-hand side (he's wearing brightly colored clothes which make him blend in ;-)

Learning about centrifugal force

Wind-powered energy

Enjoying the rabbits at the zoo

And what field trip would be complete without a little bit of jumping...

And climbing...

Hanging on a mountain lion...

And making new friends. (I just love how young children are able to befriend anyone they meet)

In the evening we went to the Railroad Museum with daddy. It is the second oldest train depot in the States (next to one in Virginia). They have a ton of old railroad paraphernalia and memorabilia as well as some very elaborate train set-ups (both for the N scale trains and HO scale trains). Elijah really enjoyed watching the trains run on the tracks through tunnels and over bridges.

Of course he had to make a friend at the train museum too, so here they are checking out two trains going through the tunnels.

Grandma Lupe turned 65 on February 25th. We had a fun time celebrating with pizza and red velvet cake (nope, I didn't make this beautiful masterpiece; I picked it up at Costco where I get most of my stuff these days ;-)
