Our Christmas Letter for 2012

Jerod: For three months this summer, Jerod participated in a “Healthy Challenge” that his work offered. They provided free gym membership, nutrition classes, boot camps, and other incentives for their employees to help get into shape and improve their overall health. During those 3 months Jerod started eating healthier, started doing Bikram Yoga in addition to all the other workouts he was involved in, and lost a total of 85 pounds! Not only does he feel great and look amazing (of course I'm a little biased when it comes to my handsome husband ;-) but he has made a mental change in his view of health that is sustainable for him in the long-term. I'm so proud of all that he has accomplished to improve his health.

Stephany: At the end of February I got to go on maternity leave 6 weeks prior to the birth of our daughter. It was definitely a transition but I loved having a little extra time to do things I knew I wouldn't be able to do after the baby would be born. The transition to two children was much easier than I anticipated. Megan is a very easy-going kid and I get a little extra time with her three mornings a week when Elijah is in preschool. My days are mostly filled with doing laundry, dishes, changing diapers, and going to the park and library with the kids, but I do have a Thursday morning ladies Bible study that is my spiritual life line and my opportunity to have adult conversations. I absolutely love being the mother of two children and am so blessed in so many ways.

Elijah: Becoming a big brother and turning 4 were the two highlights for Elijah this year. He is so amazing with his little sister and very tender and affectionate with her. At times we do have to calm him down because of his over-enthusiastic love for her, but he enjoys helping her out and playing with her. He also enjoys his new preschool class which is called the dragonfly class. Some of his favorite activities are reading, making crafts, playing with friends and cousins, and having sleep-overs with friends and relatives.

Megan: We have been so blessed with our second child this year. She was born the day after Easter on April 9th. She continues to amaze us with how quickly she is growing and developing. At present she is 7 ½ months old and has 7 teeth, is crawling and pulling herself up, and babbling away. Jerod predicts that she will be walking by Christmas...we shall see. Her constant smile and brilliantly blue eyes warm the hearts of all who see her. She is such a joy to us and we love how she has changed our lives.

Pictures: Because I am such a fanatic when it comes to pictures, I have posted a link on Google+ of different pictures of our family throughout 2012. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Jerod, Stephany, Elijah and Megan
