Nativity

Tonight's activity was to set up and play with a nativity. A couple months back I purchased this "Little People" nativity set from Amazon in anticipation of getting ready for the Christmas season. I wrapped it all up to help build the suspense.
I really wanted something that both the kids could play with and enjoy. We have a lot of nativities but many of them are breakable even though as a 4 year old they are so desirable to play with. I figured this would be the best way for them to harmlessly play with and reinact the Christmas story.
Elijah was very intent on getting it set up "just so" while Megan was more interested in the empty boxes. It was probably for the best because Elijah didn't want Megan anywhere near the nativity after he had it all arranged his special way.
I gently reminded Elijah the nativity was for both of them so he agreed to let Megan get near it for a picture.
Megan was very tired and a little on the fussy side but we have many more days to come where she can play with the nativity. I'm so excited to have this as part of our Christmas tradition now.
On a side-note...Megan is standing un-assisted! (see picture above) For about 2 weeks now she will occasionally stand on her own but only for about 3-5 seconds. Tonight she actually stood long enough for me to get this picture. Man, this girl is growing too fast!
